Who we are

This website is operated by Tide Kee (潮記) (“we”, “us”), a Canada-based seafood sourcing and export coordination business working from Vancouver, British Columbia. We arrange licensed Canadian seafood for wholesale buyers in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and other Asian markets.

We are not a processing plant, a fishing-vessel operator, a licensed importer in any destination market, or a retail grocer. We coordinate spec, packing, export papers and cold-chain logistics with licensed Canadian harvesters, processors and carriers.

Tide Kee is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or related to North Coast Seafoods of Boston, Massachusetts, or any other business using a similar English name.

Using this website

By browsing tidekee.ca (including any Vercel or other host we use), adding items to a quote list, submitting an enquiry, or contacting us, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

The site is a wholesale enquiry instrument. It is not an online shop, marketplace or auction. Goods cannot be purchased by clicking. We may decline, ignore or close enquiries that are not wholesale in nature, that lack a company identity, or that we cannot lawfully fulfil.

Enquiries are not offers

Nothing on this site — including product pages, season tables, photographs, pack notes, Latin names, typical specifications or slogans — is an offer to sell, a quotation, a reservation of inventory, a forecast of catch, or a commitment to ship on a date.

Availability follows the tide. Species, grade, volume and timing depend on licensed fisheries, processors, weather, quota, air cargo and destination rules. A price, Incoterm, ship date or quantity is binding only when we issue a written quote and you accept it in writing (including WhatsApp or email) before that quote expires.

Product information & seasons

Descriptions, images and season calendars describe lots we typically source. They may not match a future lot. Colour, size, yield, salinity, tray count, drip and condition vary by fishery, plant and week. Photographs are illustrative, not a warranty of the next shipment.

We confirm the working spec on the quote and, where relevant, on packing documents that travel with the lot. If a buyer needs a named grade, temperature, kg/case or lab test, that must be written into the accepted quote.

Wholesale buyers only

This site is intended for restaurants, wholesalers, retailers and other trade buyers who can receive commercial cold-chain cargo. It is not directed at individual consumers shopping for household use.

You are responsible for confirming that your company may lawfully import, store and sell the goods in your market, including any food-business registration, live-animal rules and labelling laws.

Processors & third parties

We arrange supply from licensed Canadian harvesters, processors, packers and logistics partners. Those parties remain independent. Tide Kee does not own their plants, vessels or aircraft, and does not itself manufacture, process or pack the goods.

Certificates, lot codes, establishment numbers and health marks, when provided, are issued by the processor or the competent authority — not invented by this website. We pass through what the lot supports; we do not promise a document that the species, form or route cannot carry.

Export papers, import & destination law

We coordinate export paperwork that is customary for the lot and route. That typically includes a commercial invoice, packing list and air waybill and, where required and available, a CFIA or equivalent health certificate. The exact set varies by species, form (live, chilled, frozen, salted-dried) and destination.

You are solely responsible for import licences, customs clearance, duties, taxes, inspection, species restrictions and any food-safety or live-animal registration in the destination. Tide Kee does not act as importer of record, customs broker or consignee unless a quote says so in writing.

Destination rules change. A previous successful shipment does not guarantee the next. If a market bans, quotas or reclassifies a species, we may cancel or vary an unshipped order without penalty beyond refunding sums we still hold for that lot.

Live & perishable goods

Live sea urchin, live spot prawn, live geoduck and other perishable SKUs are time- and temperature-critical. Survival, drip loss and quality after handover follow the Incoterm on the quote and the airline’s, handler’s and consignee’s cold chain.

We are not liable for delay, mortality, seizure or quality loss caused by weather, airline, customs, inspection, or the consignee’s handling after risk has passed under the agreed Incoterm.

Quotes, payment & logistics

A formal quote will state product, form, approximate weight or count, origin plant or fishery where relevant, Incoterm, freight assumption, validity period and payment terms. Unless the quote says otherwise, weights are estimated; the invoice may use actual shipped weight.

Title and risk transfer according to the Incoterm on the accepted quote (for example FCA, FOB, CIP or DAP — whichever is written). Tide Kee is not a common carrier. Deposits, balance payments, cancellation windows and claims procedures are only those written on the quote.

Unconfirmed enquiries and expired quotes may be closed without notice. Website “quote list” items stored in your browser are not an order.

Limitation of liability

The site and all content are provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by the law of British Columbia, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement as they apply to the website itself.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or lost-profit damages, or for catch failure, quota cuts, airline disruption, force majeure or destination regulatory change.

Our aggregate liability arising from any accepted quote is limited to the amount you paid us for that quote’s goods (excluding freight paid to third-party carriers), unless a mandatory law says otherwise. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including fraud or gross negligence where exclusion is forbidden.

Privacy, cookies & WhatsApp

We collect what you choose to send: name, company, market, WhatsApp number, email, product interest, volumes and notes. We use it to reply, quote, arrange logistics and keep a business record. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising networks.

The quote list and language preference are stored in your browser (localStorage) on this device. They are not uploaded until you send an enquiry. We do not run advertising cookies or third-party ad pixels. A host or analytics tool may set a strictly technical cookie to keep the site working.

WhatsApp is a Meta service. When you tap a wa.me link, the message is also processed under WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy. Do not send payment-card numbers, one-time passwords or government ID images on WhatsApp.

We handle personal information in line with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s PIPEDA. Buyers in Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan may also have local data-protection rights. To access, correct or delete enquiry data, write to enquiry@tidekee.ca or WhatsApp +1 778 682 7833. We may retain invoices and shipment files as required for tax, customs and dispute records.

IP, names, changes & governing law

Site copy, layout, photographs we publish, the Tide Kee / 潮記 name, slogan and seal are ours or used with permission. You may not scrape the catalogue to build a competing site, or use our mark in a way that suggests affiliation.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. The courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief elsewhere to protect the brand or a shipment.

We may update these terms. The date on this page is the current version. Continued use of the site after a change is acceptance of the new version. These terms are a commercial document, not legal advice.
